Forge forward
A Military Transition Blueprint:
Active Duty to Civilian Life

Managing your transition from active military service to civilian life is an acquired skill—just like anything you learned during your service time. When you joined the Navy and ultimately became a Machinist’s Mate you knew nothing about launching systems or performing underwater maintenance on ordnance. You learned your skills through progressive education and practice, becoming proficient—as you moved on to Torpedoman’s Mate. You will follow a similar successful path with this program.

As you progress through this course you will learn the skills necessary to present yourself, your skill sets, and their value to the civilian marketplace in such a way that you greatly increase the odds of your being hired for a job and career that interests you.

In recent years, you have the added benefit of businessmen waking up to the understanding that side-by-side–veterans seeking civilian jobs possess a greater sense of commitment, willingness to work hard, possess greater humility, team spirit and less entitlement than their civilian competitors for jobs. In the last few years, veteran unemployment has been a full point lower than the overall U.S. rate. This means more jobs for vets.

Later in this program after building some new skills, a section of this program will devote time to outlining how renewed interest in hiring vets, lightning-fast advances in Artificial Intelligence and broader acceptance of blue-collar careers is making the veterans’ job market much more attractive than in past years, and financially rewarding at all levels of careers available to serve the needs and interests of today’s veterans.

This program will progress differently than what you might be used to. Learning how others before you succeeded will be the core emphasis. Primarily because reviewing stories and tips form others encourages you to combine others’ ideas with your own so your success is yours—instead of following set patterns that may or may not fit your interests and personal style. As an added benefit Artificial intelligence (AI) will help gather information so you don’t have to dig down for answers. The program does that for you. All you have to do is make choices that are good for you. So, let’s get started!

The program you are about to participate in is especially designed for you as an E1 to E-7 person preparing to transition to civilian life. Shortly, you will see that this program is quite different from anything you have seen before; With the payoff being you don’t have to dig down for answers, the program does that for you. All you have to do is make choices that are good for you.

Q&A: What You Need to Know

Q:  I am in a command where I don’t have a lot of free time to study and prepare for my transition to civilian life.

A:  Advanced AI programs work for you here. The most you have to do is learn how to ask good questions and make choices.

Q: What do you mean by learning how to “ask good questions”?

A: We only know what we know. Learning to ask good questions opens-up your knowledge, insight, and ability to take actions that serve your needs—not anyone else’s.

A: Don’t worry, we will provide you with examples of questions, and possible answers you can tailor to your own needs and interests. You’ll catch on quick and this skill builder exercise will help you forever.

Q: I have no idea how to start thinking about what I want to do when I get out.

A: You will first– look at our video library of former servicemen and women who have agreed to share their transition experiences, and how they survived and prospered since leaving the service.

A: In each 10-minute video pick and choose from among things they did that worked for them. They might work for you.

A: Often, following the lead of others—works for you. It helps stimulate good ideas of your own.

Q: What happens Next?

A: Picking and choosing what you want to do triggers imbedded AI to be responsive to what you are thinking about, and tailor choices to you. Learning how to ask good questions using selected prompts will further refine a clear picture that you “can do!”

Q: And then?…

A: You already have enough insight to get started.  Prompted to think for yourself, make choices that are good for you, and learning how to fill in the blanks by asking questions, gets you there. The rest will fall into place with no surprises. Guaranteed!

A: See for yourself. And let’s get started!
